I promised I’d blog more in English, but I’ve been bad. More English from now on!
I’m tired, tired today. Not the not-enough-sleep kind of tiredness, more lack of energy. I blame it on the weather. This endless winter with snow and ice wherever you look and the lack of blue skies and sunshine. Every day seems exactly the same as the one before. I would really, really, really like some spring now, please.
Well – knitting helps. Knitting always helps.

Knitting, a big mug of tea (Brunkullan’s tea, my favorite of favorites) and alternating between some favorite songs and an audio book.
My Aysén FLS is coming along nicely, I’ve started the lace part:

I’m starting to worry a bit though. I switched to another skein and I can see a bit of pooling now, that wasn’t there with the previous skein. Can you see it? There are wider patches of the pale sections emerging. Not sure how I feel about that. It doesn’t look like much now, but if it continues I think I probably won’t like it. I think I’ll add another skein and alternate between them and see if that helps.
Yesterday’s mail brought me a book I ordered last week:

Vendestrik by Hanne Meedom. What a gem! Really nice patterns using short row technique, with clear instructions and beautiful photos. I found this book thanks to Mette, after asking about the gorgeous vest she was knitting. Her vest is “Vest i vendestrik” from Katrinelund. You can only buy it as a kit and I wasn’t interested in that, at least not at the moment, so Mette told me about this little book. I’m sure glad she did, thanks Mette!
Well… I better get busy. Gonna crank up the volume and let the voice of Toby Keith swirl around the house while I work and do my very best to ignore the fact that it’s snowing. Again.

The weather’s hit me hard as well. So much so that I’ve resorted to taking some Vitamin D every day hoping it will help to improve the mood. Yesterday the temp driving into work was -35C, -42C when you factor in the windchill. Egad! I’m hoping it will start getting nicer because another cold snap will send me over the edge!

Mo – I think I need more than vitamins. Wine, maybe.
I woke up to -15 today and thought I’d die, but that’s nothing to what you’re having.
Or more yarn.
I know – compared to you guys, I’m in like high summer here.
Girl, this whole Canadian winter thing is making me seriously wonder if some day moving over there is such a good idea. Well – maybe I’ll just go by that forecast you sent me (loved it!) and head straight for Vancouver.
PS – what’s that word he says about Ontario/Quebec , it sounds like “dabbernack”..?
