Mail and shopping

So, first what came in the mail today:

The blue Araucania Nature Wool I ordered the other day, from Garnkorgen. (Just showing 2, but I ordered 6.) Now… the yarn is as lovely as usual, and I do like the color. But, it’s not as blue as I thought it was, more teal-ish. Or, maybe not quite teal either, but it’s got more green in it than I thought it did. I still plan on making a Loppem with this, but it would have been extra nice in a more vibrant blue.

And then there’s the buttons I ordered from syosticka.se:

They’re…ok. None of them will go into the projects I had in mind, but I’m sure they will come in handy some other time. I like the metal ones but I think they’re too small to be used on Loppem.

This afternoon I visited my LYS to see what buttons I might find there. I found two nice, green versions and couldn’t decide which ones I liked best so I bought 4 of each:

The ones on the left are nice on both sides, I think I like the “back” side (the more shiny side) best.
The buttons on the right look brown here, but in reality they’re more green than brown.

Here they are, laid out on my green February Lady Sweater (for which they are intended, well, 4 of them anyway):

Which do you like best?

Of course, I couldn’t just buy buttons while there…

Thought I’d knit myself a pair of mittens with this. Chevalier, maybe?

    Åh, vad fina knappar (jag gllar alla)! Jag skulle välja den matta gröna knappen, den längst til höger. Men det blir fint vilken du än väljer. Loppem kommer nog att bli jättefint i det garnet, även om du tycker att färgen var mer grön än blå.

    Har du sett att det finns mönster till Chevalier-strumpor också? kanske något till sockklubben i december, lite tjockare strumpor? ;-)

    ja när jag ser knapparna på tröjan, så tycker jag också bäst om den stora knappen, med matta sidan upp.

    Alla knapparna är fina men de stora gröna är bäst oavsett vilken sida du har dem på,men matta sidan föredrar jag .Garnet är bara helt ljuvligt oxå Loppem är jättefin . Chevaliermittens står på min önskelista oxå kanske nästa projekt mellan de större .

    Personally, I like the larger green buttons with the non-shiny (right) side showing. But that’s just me. Buttons are very personal and you can use them to really blend in to a garment (my preference) or really stand out. Go with your gut ’cause you’ve got great instincts!
